I had to deal with USCSIS(INS) today. I had a few questions I needed to ask,so Denise and I decided to go to Fresno.We went online and made an appointment.Quite a bit easier than the old days when I had to go at four in the morning and stand in a line up for hours.Anyway first question I had about my green card was answered and I will be okay with just my stamped passport.Some how though I have to get sworn affidavits from two people stating that denise and I have been residing together.....sheeeesh......My biggest problem is that I am not sure exactly what to do.....here is the directions they give on the form:
A
ffidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people
who have known both of you since your conditional
residence was granted and have personal knowledge of
your marriage and relationship. (Such persons may be
required to testify before an immigration officer as to the
information contained in the affidavit.) The original
affidavit must be submitted and also contain the following
information regarding the person making the affidavit:
his or her full name and address; date and place of birth;
relationship to you or your spouse, if any; and full
information and complete details explaining how the
person acquired his or her knowledge. Affidavits must be
supported by other types of evidence listed above
.
see what I mean???Also once again I have to get two more 2"by2" photos.Denise and I have all the other data needed(rental agreements,bank statements,joint bills,medical insurance,auto insurance etc)My job is to get all this together by December 16th plus a check for $205.00 and mail it to Laguna Miguel for processing.Whereupon we hopefully will get an appointment by March 16th to get my permanent residency for ten years.I can't tell you how much I am looking forward to that.It has been a stressful three years for us,having to collect and keep all evidences.The worst part is the government keeps changing the rules almost every month.
